World Cup draw is out - this is getting real
This journey just keeps on giving me lessons, whether I'm ready for a new learning experience or not! Sometimes I say in my head, 'Universe, I think I've learnt all I can for today, please can we consolidate instead of a new lesson today?'
Take the guess factor out and get expert help when you need it for best results
As I came down off the Oceanias Championship high from mid July, that first week back was a week of looking back at what went right (basking in the glow) and more importantly looking at what went wrong, or what is begging for improvement. It's these areas that need work that have become my obsessive focus for the last 9 weeks in the countdown to World Cup.
It's in your head
Instead of focusing on the negative chatter, or letting my subconscious sabotage my efforts, I was bought back to focus on what I could change, what I could improve in this moment. Getting out of my head and focusing on the moment. This was the gift of my morning.
If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!
A good friend reminded me recently of Benjamin Franklin's great quote “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” He also had the wise words that success doesn't just arrive and you have to plan for success. So with that in mind tomorrow morning will be spent spreadsheeting my training plan for the next four weeks.
